April is Autism Acceptance Month. This month, learn about Autism and celebrate and support your students, classmates and community members on the spectrum. The Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) 2025 Community Report on Autism based on a 2022 study of 16 communities estimates that Autism Spectrum Disorder prevalence among children aged 8 years was 1 in 31 (3.2%) overall. This is not a single disorder, but a group of closely related disorders affecting how a child learns, interacts with others and communicates. Behaviors, abilities, and symptoms vary considerably creating unique challenges for intervention and treatment.
