What and Where is Credo Reference?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Credo Reference <\/strong>provides online versions of 800 published reference works, including general and specialized dictionaries and encyclopedias. It links to other PCC Library databases with magazine and journal articles, such as EBSCOhost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To find it, begin at the PCC Library home page: pcc.edu\/library<\/strong>. In the \u201cShortcuts\u201d box, find and select Databases<\/strong>, then click the All Databases <\/strong>tab, and then the letter C. Scroll down to <\/strong>Credo Reference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Searching Credo Reference<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There are different ways to search in Credo Reference. In Basic Search<\/strong>, simply enter a keyword or two into the search box and select the search icon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Browse popular topics by selecting one of the Popular Topics which are listed under large subject areas such as Health & Medicine, History, and Psychology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exploring Your Topic<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On the results page explore your topic through Articles<\/strong>, Images<\/strong>, and Mind Map<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Articles and Images<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Toggle between Articles and Images by selecting the relevant tab. Filter by type of content, subject, media, date and length. Select the title of an article to read the content, including citations. Notice the related searches and article links on each result page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mind Map<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Mind Map is a visual search tool that displays the connections between search results in a visual, interactive, and easy-to-use format. It enables you to quickly find information when you don’t know what to look for, when you need topic ideas for papers or research projects, or want to expand your knowledge of a given area. For example, see this mind map for the topic \u201cOpera\u201d, with connections to performers, composers, and concepts related to Opera.<\/p>\n\n\n

Citing, Saving and Emailing Articles<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

At the top of each article is a series of symbols representing options for citing and saving the article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To cite an article, look for the quotation mark symbol<\/strong>. Credo provides citations for APA,  MLA, Chicago, and Harvard styles that you can cut and paste into your bibliography. Citations can also be viewed at the bottom of many articles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next to the citation tool symbol is the symbol for the print tool<\/strong>. You can use this to print or to download the article as a PDF to your computer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To email an article to yourself, select the share icon<\/strong>, and enter your email address in both \u201cfrom\u201d and \u201cto\u201d fields. Credo provides options for sending the article in full text along with a citation in APA, MLA, Chicago, and Harvard formats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
