Details about this class
Welcome to MTH 60 !!!
I really look forward to teaching you. I have taught MTH 60 many times and have been at PCC since 1999.
Please find some recent comments from students:
- I would most definitely recommend Mr. Diss to other students, and I have. He is the most proficient math teacher I've had in my entire life. He give very clear clean cut instructions for steps, gives excellent study guides, and is extremely helpful whenever I have questions. We practice problems on the board and go over them when completed so that mistakes can be pointed out, and fixed.
- It was a great class, very clear, learned a lot, Mr. Diss is a n excellent teacher. I enjoyed his class so much.
- Math has never made sense to me, but he made it understandable and taught it very well. Would recommend this class to everyone.
MTH 60 is the first term of a two term sequence in college algebra. Before taking this class you should know basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing whole numbers. I encourage all of you to work on time tables before the class. There is also a great and short video on learning the time tables. You can learn the time tables by writing them out again and again, using flash cards or taking timed quizzes.
We will spend a little bit of time reviewing some basic arithmetic. Any time you can spend reviewing basic arithmetic would be so helpful. You can look at the appendix in our online book.
