The Queer Resource Centers support queer, trans, and gender expansive students through one-on-one advocacy, resources & referrals, events & programming, leadership opportunities, and community building. We advocate for an inclusive and intersectional campus climate that promotes gender justice, sexual liberation, and equity for all people. Our centers offer a safer space where all students are welcome to hang out, be themselves, explore identity, and get support when they need it.

Available Positions:

QRC Student Advocate

Student Advocates staff the Queer Resource Center including: sharing information, making effective referrals of all kinds, providing peer support for problem-solving and self-advocacy, providing peer support and advocacy for students affected by intimate partner and gender-based violence, developing and implementing educational programs, organizing events, providing outreach to the campus community about QRC programs and services, and creating a force on campus to dismantle heterosexism, cissexism, racism, classism, sexism, and all forms of oppression.

BQTSS Peer Mentor

Bridge to Queer & Trans Student Success (BQTSS) Peer Mentors help program participants make the transition to college and succeed during their first year through outreach events, community building, and peer support. Mentors develop and implement a variety of engagement opportunities to support the personal and academic success of their mentees, who are assigned based on Academic & Career Pathways, lived experiences, and interests. Mentors help their peers navigate college as they pursue similar career paths through an identity-based lens. Mentors model strong academic habits, good judgement and maturity, system navigation skills, healthy boundaries, and academic persistence; they also share knowledge about community resources and the campus community.
